Mission Smile completed its second Medical Mission in Visakhapatnam sponsored by Muthoot Pappachan Foundation from 28th September – 4th October at GITAM Dental College & Hospital.
72 patients from Visakhapatnam and majorly its neighbouring places like Vizianagram and Srikakulam attended the screening camp. Out of the 72 patients, 45 patients were found fit for surgery.
Medical volunteers from Guwahati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata gave their valuable time to make this medical mission a success. Dr. Anjana Malhotra from Kolkata was our Surgery Team Leader for this 2nd Medical Mission and Dr. Krishna H.M from Manipal was our Anesthetist Team Leader and also our Field Medical Director for this Medical Mission in Visakhapatnam.
Navdeep (1.3 years), now is a smiling young child, looking forward to a smiling future.
Over the last one year Mission Smile with the pro-active support from Muthoot Papachan Foundation (MPF) could bring over 500 Smiles in South India. We are humbled by the zealous support which MPF and its staff had extended to us in achieving this important milestone. We thanks Thomas Muthoot for championing the cause of Cleft in bringing Smiles on the lips of 500 children.
