Mission Smile’ – The name is what got me attracted to this organization. But I had no idea that this would be the work they do, of getting the Smiles of little children back. The deformity of Cleft lip and cleft palate is too widespread among kids and can lead to death even was beyond my thought. I am a first year Bcom student and all I thought to join an NGO and to do some good work, but this organization really stands out.
My experience here has been a real paradox of emotions. The first thing I felt entered the place to see the kids and know their stories. I was shocked at once the innocence of those little ones made me feel sad as to why they have to suffer so much. All though their smiles were still the most beautiful. The anxiety later gave me a life changing experience that a simple surgery of 45 minutes can change a life for ones and for all.
I realise from my experience, it’s a big world out there and a lot of people need our help and probably our lives would be really worthwhile if we could just make one person also happy. So, I would like to thank Mission Smile for giving me this opportunity and really making me realise the value of a Smile.
